We are looking for talented, enthusiastic, and experienced individuals for upcoming opportunities in floating projects in Newfoundland and Labrador.

What will you be doing?

  • Applying specialized knowledge of human performance principles, methodologies, and technologies with an aim to improve the integration of human factors into the analysis, design, development, implementation, and use of systems
  • Supporting the development and update of the Human Factors Integration Plan (HFIP), ensuring integration across disciplines and functions, and inclusion within project specifications
  • Defining human related risks within a task analysis model in preparation for de-risking
  • Providing human factors technical expertise on advanced user-interface technology development, and the role of human users in automated or autonomous sub-systems
  • Designing and evaluating work systems, using human factors engineering and ergonomic principles to optimize usability, cost, quality, safety, and performance
  • Reviewing and proposing alternative solutions for incorporating knowledge of human factors potentially harmful factors, such as heavy loads or repetitive motions
  • Conducting research to evaluate potential solutions related to changes in equipment design, procedures, personnel, or training
  • Apply modeling or quantitative analysis to forecast events, such as human decisions or behaviors, the structure or processes of organizations, or the attitudes or actions of human groups
  • Ensuring the inclusion of human and organizational factors in risk assessments and emergency preparedness planning
We think you should have:
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, Systems Design, Ergonomics, or related discipline and registration with PEGNL as a P.Eng (preferred) or an EIT.
  • Experience in the application of human factors methods in a Front End/FEED greenfield environment within the offshore energy
  • Familiarity with Design Engineering, Fault Studies, Probabilistic Assessments or Safety Cases
  • Knowledge of Human Reliability Techniques including HEART, THERP or NARA
