Working in a team-based project environment, the Workforce Management Manager (ANSOS- Skill Mix & Scheduling) will be high-level nursing advocate with management sponsorship and project leadership capabilities who will collaborate with internal and external clinical/financial/technical subject matter experts. The successful candidate will promote and maintain the ANSOS Staffing Scheduling system and lead the successful design, implementation and monitoring of a workforce management solution (ANSOS) for Eastern Health (including facilitating ANSOS system training and administration), while managing recommended staffing models, relief strategies and scheduling services for the organization, and assist with:- Implementing staffing models, relief strategies, and scheduling services for the organization
- Ensuring staff mixes and staff scheduling coverages reduce unnecessary overtime and reduce excessive floating across multiple units
- Aligning clinical/non-clinical staff mixes with the necessary competencies.
- Ensuring clinical/non-clinical staff mixes are equally distributed in all areas for optimal patient outcomes
- Balancing organizational and staff needs to increase staff resiliency and engagement.
- Establishing ANSOS system protocols and facilitates applicable training
- Providing professional instruction and function as the expert ANSOS consultant in the areas of skill mix, scheduling, program design, evaluation, instruction, and delivery of evidence-based education
- Coordinating and serving as IT liaison for system maintenance and upgrades.
- Generating staffing/scheduling/personnel reports according to specific requirementsJob Qualifications
Education
Bachelor\'s degree in a health related discipline or other related discipline is required.Experience
Minimum of 5 years working in a progressively responsible healthcare management role is required.
Experience with managing, scheduling clinical resources, and coordinating human resources activities is required.
Experience in implementing quality and or process change initiatives in acute care is required.
Previous experience with data collection and information technology is required.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of project and change management methodologies.
Proficient with computer applications including PowerPoint, TEAMS, Meditech, Microsoft Excel, Word, COGNOS, HRIS, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated nursing leadership skills with a strong focus in critical thinking/problem solving skills to address skill mix & scheduling issues in a unit/program.
Demonstrated ability to engage/liaise with program directors, nurse managers, unit charge nurses and support staff managers to understand unique patient care and/or skill mix and scheduling situations.
Superior oral, writing and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to consult, train, coach, and mentor.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems aggressively and adapt rapidly to change.
Demonstrated effective time management skills with the ability to manage timelines/meet deadlines.
