REDI Enterprises Society is presently seeking a fulltime
Workforce Advisor
for the Medicine Hat REDIworks division with a wage of $20.50/hour, this opportunity is subject to and dependent on the approval of necessary grant funding. This role provides labour market updates, making referrals to funding or community supports, and ensuring employers have the tools, resources, and most updated and accurate information needed to help make informed decisions on workforce development and planning matters. In this role you will:
Provide tools and strategies to foster engagement and reduce turnover and implement retention strategies through structured follow-up and problem-solving sessions
Address performance concerns promptly by facilitating conversations and clarifying expectations
Assist with resource navigation and referrals for funding, compliance requirements, and community programs that support workforce development
Compile and compare labour market insights through qualitative data, surveys, and research, and compile information into regular reporting for employers
Post vacancies on government platforms (e.g., ALIS) and community networks, ensuring compliance and visibility
What you bring
The ideal Workforce Advisor is a hands-on and consultative partner, familiar with labour market trends and human resources best practices, who will work directly with employers to enhance their internal HR functions and workforce strategy. They are confident in providing essential tools and strategies to improve employee engagement and retention and possess the knowledge to guide businesses in resource navigation and referrals for funding and support. The ideal candidate understands the importance in ensuring employers have current and accurate information necessary to make informed decisions regarding their HR policies and workforce development plans.
Job Requirements
1 year of post-secondary education in a related field
Between two to five years of relevant experience or suitable combination of education and experience
First Aid - Level C / CPR certificate
Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license and access to a vehicle with $2 million liability insurance
Basic computer literacy that meets the requirements of the specific role and agency/service
Criminal record and Vulnerable Sector Check that are acceptable to the Executive Director
Relevant knowledge and ability to model and support the development of basic living, personal and social skills
Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal format
