Scope of Position

Reporting to Senior Manager - Production, the Work Center Coordinator (WCC) plans, schedules and coordinates the flow of work in order to expedite production work flow to meet customer schedules. Other duties include:

  • Reviews the master production schedule and supports daily priorities for specific areas
  • Coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules
  • Reviews the shipment schedule conferring with department supervisors to determine the work progress, completion dates and solve any production problems
  • Develops contingency plans for any orders tracking behind the production schedule
  • Acts as a liaison between departments
  • Summarizes, reports, and escalates all impediments to the production schedule
  • Interacts with Production - Manager/Supervisors on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding production efficiencies
Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work shifts to accommodate production scheduling
  • Ability to learn technical material to accomplish necessary objectives
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the production functions within a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task several priorities and possess solid time management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedules, safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to apply good judgment and understanding to carry out instructions mentioned in written, oral, or diagram form
Experience
  • 2+ years of production planning/scheduling experience
Education
  • College Diploma or equivalent experience in Operations Management
  • APICs/CPIM (Certification in Production & Inventory Management) preferred
