Position Summary
The purpose of the Work Control Coordinator role is to develop the Annual Work Plan by collaborating with key stakeholders involved in the resource planning process. This role ensures that the strategic initiatives for the year are achieved by appropriately balancing the budget, resources, and prioritization of the work throughout the year. This role also ensures that operational, customer, reliability, safety, and performance goals are adhered to during the execution of the plan. The role is also responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of key performance measures. Supports the Planning Supervisors in the protection of the planned work through schedule adherence, cost per unit, productivity, compliance dates, etc. Responsible for analytical support during various planning, budgeting, variance analysis, reporting requirements and improvement initiatives. Manages the long-term development and execution of the annual work plan, through multiple levels. This position will support all stations for Below Ground crews.

You Will:

  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains the Annual Work Plan for Washington Gas, coordinating Gas Operations budget, resource projections and forecasted work.
  • Determines baseline manpower and project funding resource requirements and recommends resource decisions balancing both operational requirements and financial implications. Requires coordination of a large geographically dispersed workforce and a large contingent of additional contract.
  • Manages the common scheduling and forecasting templates and implements improvements.
  • Provides data analytics for work resource planning functions, including the development and management of monthly performance indicators.
  • Manages a full year of planned capital work within a schedule to ensure that packets are ready, and obstacles are removed before jobs are handed off to the Planning Supervisor.
  • Suggests process improvements and drives initiatives to implement a scheduling / project management tool to track both short- and long-term work.
  • Projects objectives to meet the Company\xe2\x80\x99s performance indicators.
  • Develops and chairs, (as the Director\xe2\x80\x99s delegate), the monthly performance review meeting. This meeting is attended by all stakeholders in the work resource planning process.
  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders in Washington Gas to represent Resource Management regarding process and procedural issues.

You Have:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree business, finance, engineering, data analytics or related field preferred
  • 3+ Years relevant utility business experience is required required
  • Proficient knowledge of work scheduling.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software such as Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency with ARM, Smallworld, Geotab, SAP and WMIS.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, achieve deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
  • Ability to execute independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work closely with all levels of management.
  • Strong leadership abilities. Demonstrated conflict management skills.
  • Process Improvement experience.
  • Project management, Engineering and/or operations experience.
  • Experience in Resource Management / Work Management Environment.
  • Experience in the use of a scheduling tools.
  • Ability to travel throughout Washington Gas service territory as required.
