Tolko is seeking multiple highly motivated students for exciting summer positions within our Lumby, BC Woodlands division. Under the supervision of forestry professionals, students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in: timber development.
We're looking for an Forestry Students for our Southern Interior Woodlands Division. The Southern Interior Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, covering an area of 953,447 hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications
:
Enrolled in a Forestry related post-secondary degree or technical program.
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and team collaboration skills
.
A
valid driver's license
.
An
unwavering commitment to safety
.
Prior forestry experience is considered an asset.
In this role you will:
Participate in
forest development activities.
Work on road/cut block layout.
Do
timber cruising
and drafting of associated plans.
Enjoy a position that generally encompasses both
field and office duties.
Work within and between
various teams
and
build strong relationships
with the people you work with.
Complete all duties in a
safe, timely, cost effective and professional manner.

This is a unionized position, within the United Steelworkers Local 1--423. Compensation is governed by the Southern Interior Master Agreement. This position currently starts at $35.29 /hour.
