Hours of Work:

37.5 weekly - 7.5hr days - varying hours: 9am - 5pm 0r 1pm-9pm Monday to Friday (plus one on-call weekend every 6-8 weeks)

Under the supervision of the Director of Outreach, and as a member of the Women's Housing leadership team, the Manager of Outreach is responsible for overseeing aspects of the day-to-day operations of Outreach/Diversion Services. The Manager will take a trauma informed, harm reduction approach to create a communal environment for the women and families and encourage a healthy team culture amongst program staff focused on collaboration, a respectful approach to challenging issues, and a culture of ongoing learning and incorporation of best practices

Responsibilities:



Human Resources:

The Manager will foster a cohesive and effective staff team that works collectively to support clients. This will include direct supervision of the Diversion and Outreach Community Hub with a focus on coaching, feedback, fostering professional development, and completing regular performance reviews and accountability agreements. This individual will work in collaboration with the Director of Outreach and Manager of Human Resources to advertise, interview, and hire new staff when needed. The Manager, in collaboration with the Director, will facilitate and lead regular communication within the team, including leading regular meetings, notifying team members of upcoming events, and connecting with the other departments in Women's Housing and the entire organization.

Program Development:

Working collaboratively with the Director of Outreach, the Manager will ensure a high quality of programming, support, and services being provided including leading best practices in client support, case management, and systems navigation that are based on the principles of trauma-informed practice, harm reduction, cultural safety, Housing First, and feminism. This individual will support the coordination and maintenance of the policies, procedures, and systems necessary to ensure the program is operating efficiently and effectively and is achieving desired outcomes and will look for opportunities to refine and improve service where possible.

Administration:

The Manager of Outreach, in collaboration with the Director, will oversee efficient and effective data collection to ensure all reporting and requirements are met. This individual will oversee the general maintenance and operations of Outreach. The Manager will monitor and approve budgeted expenditure and ensure spending on expenses falls within the budget. The successful candidate will also be responsible for other duties that arise in the operation of Community Hub, including being on-call one weekend every 4-6 weeks and working front-line in emergency situations.

Service Delivery

Guides team to direct clients into appropriate YWCA programs (Outreach, Shelters, or Residences).

Delivery and developing programming.

Respond to crisis situations in a trauma-informed manner, de-escalate when needed.

Respond to drug poisonings and other medical emergencies.

Support team working with women and families to navigate government and community programs.

Maintain positive relationships with all women's housing teams working with our target population, with a focus on agencies providing services for individuals impacted by trauma, mental health challenges and addictions.

Actively work towards developing familiarity with Indigenous cultural traditions and engagement with Indigenous people and communities; and

Establish/maintain positive relationships with other professionals in the community including police, mental health support teams, and emergency services.

Guide team to follow YWCA case planning process with women and families as outlined:

o Intake/assessment process.

o Person-centered case plans, at the location of the client.

o Follow-up assessments and regular check-in as needed; and

o Provide warm referrals to community agencies and programs in support of individual's needs and activities.

o Provide extended support with transition with YWCA programs

Administrative Duties

Providing day to day coaching, debriefing support, information, and guidance to staff.

Completing Accountability Agreements with staff and update bi-annually.

Maintain diversion schedule and shift filling

Provide on-call services for one weekend approximately every 6-8 weeks.

Maintain detailed and accurate electronic case files using HIFIS.

Conduct VI-SPDATs, track referrals, and contacts.

Provide verbal and written reports to appropriate area staff; and

Cooperate with team members to ensure other administrative needs are met.

Other duties that may arise in the operation of the program or the YWCA Regina.

Qualifications:



A degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, social work, or management, and/or 2-3 years management experience.

Proven administration, supervisory and leadership skills.

Experience working with Indigenous communities and women experiencing violence, addictions, and/or homelessness.

Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Proven skills in relationship development, fostering a team, and effective coaching.

A sound knowledge of residential agency operations.

Ability to deal with high stress situations.

A valid Saskatchewan driver's license.

Crisis intervention skills

Awareness of colonization and the intergenerational impacts it has had on women and families

Respect for women and children of various backgrounds.
