Job Overview


Wireless Device Specialist - Field Testing

mobileLIVE is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Specialist to join the team. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of wireless technologies and specifically with an understanding of the wireless network registration/access methodologies used by handsets and other wireless devices.

Key Responsibilities:



Technical Expertise: Possess strong knowledge of 5G, VoNR, mmWave, VoWiFi, VoLTE, SRVCC, E911, roaming, inter-RAT (IRAT), location-based services (LBS), and audio technologies. Collaboration with SMEs: Work closely with Subject Matter Experts to understand and implement testing procedures, prioritizing tasks effectively across multiple experts. Log Analysis: Utilize logging tools such as QXDM, MTK, and Shannon to analyze logs and determine root causes of issues. Test Execution: Execute test plans based on technical specifications for 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G network services provided by U.S. operators. Application Testing: Conduct testing for handset client applications (e.g., SMS, MMS, browser, UAT, VoIP) and their connectivity to network technologies (RAT, RAN, 4G, 5G, VoWiFi). 5G Technology: Engage with 5G Standalone (SA) and Non Standalone technologies and provide updates and recommendations based on test outcomes. Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and effectively with various teams, including SMEs, network teams, vendors, and testing teams, to make informed decisions on next steps. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on wireless standards (e.g., OMA, 3GPP) to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications



University degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Telecommunications. Proven experience with wireless devices (smartphones, CPE) and a strong understanding of data versus voice-centric equipment. Familiarity with 5G SA technology. Ability to work effectively with SMEs and other technical teams, demonstrating strong communication and decision-making skills. Ability to interpret test results and understand their practical implications. Previous experience in a role that involved a combination of hands-on testing and SME governance is preferred. Willingness to work with and mentor junior team members as needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong technical writing skills highly desirable; Well-organized and detailed-oriented person; Self-motivated, challenge-driven individual.

Mandatory Skills



1. 5G SA/5G-NSA/VoNR/VoLTE/VoWiFi Knowledge/Experience

2. Work outside 9-5 (different shifts) and sometimes weekends

3. Travel out of city(preferably)

4. Have a valid driver's license

5. Experience with Device testing

Nice to Have Skills



1. Experience with network testing

2. Experience working on major US carriers (T-Mobile, ATT, Verizon)

3. Prior QA experience

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $35.00-$38.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
