Profile



The Wire Harness Fabricator is responsible for the precise fabrication, routing, and testing of aircraft wire harnesses based on engineering drawings and build-to-print documentation. This role is performed entirely off the aircraft, in a controlled workbench or production area, ensuring harnesses meet quality standards prior to installation.



Key Responsibilities

Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layout drawings, and work instructions. Cut, strip, terminate, and crimp wires and cables according to building documentation and engineering standards. Route and bundle wire harnesses using lacing cord, tie wraps, and sleeves as specified. Required to fabricate, assemble or perform operations as assigned to produce electronic and electrical details. Install and secure connectors, back shells, contacts, splices, and other related hardware Perform continuity and insulation resistance checks using multimeters and other basic test equipment. Identify and document any non-conformances or discrepancies and escalate issues to quality or engineering as required. Maintain organization and cleanliness in the fabrication work area. Follow all company safety, quality, and compliance procedures. Participate in team meetings, continuous improvement activities, and cross-training as necessary.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1-2 years of experience in electrical assembly or wire harness fabrication preferred Aerospace or aviation experience considered an asset. Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

Skills

Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams. Familiarity with tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, heat guns, and soldering irons. Comfortable working in a seated or standing position for extended periods. Team-oriented with effective communication skills.
