RTL is currently recruiting for Supervisors, Equipment Operators and Construction Drivers to join our team on a seasonal basis for the annual winter road (ice road) season. We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for experienced operators to support the work we do on our part of the building of the Tibbitt to Contwoyto Winter Road Joint Venture (http://www.jvtcwinterroad.ca/). Listed below are positions which may interest you! Positions:

  • Construction Drivers (Water / Plow Truck)
    • Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 driving experience accompanied by a clean driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract
    • Minimum Class 3, prefer Class 1 driving experience
    • Water and/or plow truck driving experience required
    • Plowing snow is required
    • Assisting with building portages and flooding for ice road construction
  • Supervisors: Experience with overseeing crew and ensuring safety practices are followed
  • Loader / Grader Operators: clearing snow around camp and building portages with snow and water and loading and unloading trucks with forks, Class 3 license is preferred
We are also looking for Class 1 Drivers and Logistics Personnel for our Yellowknife location What you bring:
  • Minimum 2 years\' ice road building or civil construction experience using aforementioned equipment
  • A safety conscious approach to all job duties
  • Ability to follow rigid direction provided in order to maintain the safety of all working on the build
  • Required to perform job site hazard analysis
  • Participation in daily tool box talks is required
  • Solid understanding of preventative maintenance and minor equipment repair
  • Capacity to perform difficult, manual labour in extremely cold temperatures (-40) for long hours at a time
  • "Roll up your sleeves attitude\xe2\x80\x9d to take initiative and go beyond the job duties by supporting the team on the ground and labouring on site as required
  • Communicate via VHF radios as required
