FOOTPRINTS is non-profit volunteer-led registered charitable organization governed by dedicated board members with diverse industry expertise throughout Durham. Programs provide quality respite care for families with children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We offer recreational respite (not therapy) in a positive, safe, and fun environment.

Duration of two weeks as indicated in the dates below.

DATES AND TIMES



Camp times are from 9:00AM to 5:00PM

December: 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, 2025.

January: 2nd, 2026.

REPORTS TO



Camp Program Supervisor and Operations Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES



Camp:



1. Implement camp programs as outlined/designed by the Camp Consultant and assist with any program preparation as needed.

2. Model the role of a Child Support Volunteer by guiding and actively supporting volunteers in a hands-on manner on how to be an effective and efficient Child Support Volunteers in supporting children diagnosed with Autism.

3. In conjunction with the Camp Consultant and Camp Counselor, facilitate planned activities for the camps. Ensure security and safety of facility. Pre- and post-checklists are to be completed each day.

4. Ensure that family concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner, and that all concerns be reported to the Camp Consultant immediately.

5. Be responsible for compliance with health and safety protocols to ensure the safety of children and volunteers during assigned shifts.

6. Identify and report immediately to the Camp Consultant any issues regarding legal and/or safety implications, as outlined in the Policies and Procedures.

7. Be on site for camp hours which run from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. Arrive fifteen (15) minutes before and stay fifteen (15) minutes after each camp day to assist with set-up and clean-up.

8. Additional training will be provided and 3 hours for camp orientation/training.

SELECTION CRITERIA



Able to travel, attend and work flexible hours - in-person meetings, events and program service delivery. Have access to technology to work remotely. Exceptional communication, customer service and teamwork skills. Proficient with MS Office suite; experience with various social media platforms is an asset. Camp experience supporting children is an asset.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES



Police Vulnerable Sector Check will be required for individuals over the age of 18.
