to the hospitality industry, conscientious, team player, a desire to learn, respectful and honest. The desirable candidate would be very passionate about wine, wine education, further development of both staff\xe2\x80\x99s knowledge, as well as their own and ensuring the success of the restaurant. The ideal candidate would have several years of managing a similar wine program of both size and volume in a fine dining environment, and who has held responsibilities in the selection, hiring, training and development of team members of the FOH team. Candidates should come with a desire to learn about Pacific Northwest cuisine, local ingredients, quality spirits, and wines of the world. Opportunity for education and growth is available.   • Ensure excellence in the standards and practices of Wild Blue.
  • To take ownership of the entire wine program, keeping appropriate stock levels, promotion of strong buying techniques, remaining focused on French, Italian, and Pacific Northwest wines.
  • Responsible for all wine sales, costing, and using/ creating desirable metrics for success.
  • Continue to build and align the wine list with the food we offer during the different seasons.
  • To build strong relationships within the industry, our suppliers and ambassadors.
  • Report weekly to the Restaurant Director with wine sales, targets, analytical data of the wine program and recommendations for improvement.
  • Each service leads the promotion of wine on the restaurant floor.
  • Create/ manage a small, dedicated wine team.
  • To create and nurture strong guest relationships.
  • To manage inventory effectively using our inventory system, ensuring promptness of invoice reconciliation, managing the wine component of the platform including recipes, storage location, creating of new items, sales information.
  • Assist with all operational needs and day-to-day processes where needed.
  • To learn and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our food, its components, preparation techniques, ingredients, and purveyors we have relationships with.
  • Open and close the restaurant as needed.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned.
Qualifications for Success
  • Minimum 3+ years of related wine, and service management experience in a similar environment.
  • Commitment to quality, excellence, and genuine hospitality.
  • Proven ability of attaining strong inventory and sales targets.
  • Excellent knowledge of Wine and Wine program operational needs. WSET Level 3 minimum. WSET Level 4, ISG Diploma or equivalent desirable.
  • Experience in creating training and education programs.
  • Ability to provide warm, humble, and knowledgeable service.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong task and time management abilities.
  • A polished, professional demeanor, with a warm and hospitable disposition.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed.
  • Serving It Right Certificate.
