The Wildlife Rehabilitation Technician plays a crucial role in the care and rehabilitation of injured or orphaned wildlife. This position involves hands-on work with various species, ensuring their health and safety while preparing them for release back into their natural habitats. Duties

Assess the condition of injured or orphaned wildlife and provide appropriate medical care under the supervision of licensed rehabilitators. Maintain clean and safe habitats for animals, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration. Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff. Monitor the progress of animals in rehabilitation, documenting observations and changes in behavior or health. Assist in the release of rehabilitated wildlife back into their natural environments. Collaborate with team members to develop care plans and improve rehabilitation processes. Educate the public about wildlife conservation, rehabilitation efforts, and responsible interactions with wildlife.

Skills

Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and farm machinery for habitat maintenance and animal care. Experience in agriculture, farming, landscaping, or lawn care is beneficial for understanding animal habitats. Knowledge of pest control methods may be useful in managing wildlife interactions. Strong driving skills are essential for transporting animals safely to veterinary clinics or release sites. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate the public about wildlife issues and promote conservation efforts. A background in sales can be advantageous for fundraising initiatives or community outreach programs. This position requires a dedicated individual who is ready to make a positive impact on wildlife conservation efforts through hands-on rehabilitation work.

Pay: $18.75-$38.78 per hour
