Wildlife Monitor - Exploration Support.

Departure: Mirabel or Val-d'Or

JOB DESCRIPTION

UN OVERVIEW OF THE MANDATE :

Constant visual surveillance of the exploration zone using binoculars. Detect any threatening wildlife (e.g. polar bears) in the vicinity of the exploration team. Alert the team immediately in the event of potential danger. If necessary, intervene to ward off wildlife using the firearm provided by the worker. Position yourself strategically on the ground (e.g. rocks, high points) and change location regularly as required. Work long hours (up to 12 h/day) in an outdoor environment exposed to tundra conditions.

GENERAL SKILLS

YOU ARE THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR IF :

Valid hunting licence. Possession of a personal firearm that complies with regulations. Good observation skills and constant vigilance. Physical and mental stamina to work outdoors for long periods in a static position. Ability to adapt to northern climatic conditions (cold, wind, isolation).
