WGST 100 - Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies


This course will examine the historical development of feminism and women's studies. Women's representation in academic practice will be analyzed using examples from humanities, the arts, and social sciences. Strategies for change and for the empowerment of women will be considered
Position Requirements
The successful candidate musthold a minimum of an MA in Women's and Gender Studies, preferably a PhD; have a record of effective teaching at the post-secondary level; have experience managing classroom and online technologies used by the University of Regina (including UR Courses [Moodle])

Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours
The instructor will deliver the course on campus face-to-face on Tuesdays and

Thursdays from 19:00-20:15. Instructors are expected to have one office hour per

week.
Course Modality On Campus, Face-to-Face Course Dates and Time Tuesdays, Thursdays - 19:00-20:15 Duration (if Term/Temporary) January 1 - April 30, 2026. Sessional Lecturers may have preparatory work to do before the start date and sometimes may have to deal with grading tasks after the termination date.
