Your Opportunity

As Drinking Water Sector Lead, you will partner with our global practice leaders, project delivery specialists, and business developers to expand and grow Stantec\'s capacity to win and deliver drinking water work in our Western Canada region.

You can be based out of any of our offices in Western Canada, including Victoria, Burnaby, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. While we offer a hybrid working environment, in this leadership role you should expect to be in the office or with clients a minimum of three days per week.

This is a seller-doer position where you can expect to spend about a third of your time on this role and the balance on project work.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Regional Growth Leader (RGL), and coordinating with the North American Drinking Water Sector Leader, for the Western Canada geography you will be responsible for:

Identifying and supporting the win of strategic pursuits in collaboration with local Business Centre Practice Leaders, Account Managers, and Business Developers,

Acting as a Liaison between local / regional teams and the North American Sector Leader and practice community to leverage both their and the Sector\'s technical skills locally, and

Reinforcing our brand as a leader in water treatment through participation in industry organizations and communication with clients, both directly and by providing leadership to our drinking water professionals.

You will be expected to:

Regularly engage with clients.

Actively participate in BWWWA and WCWWA and the various operators associations

Leverage your understanding of the legislative requirements and market drivers in Western Canada to support and grow our drinking water portfolio.

Collaborate with our Western Canada engineering team to share knowledge and resources.

Be and active member of our North America Drinking Water Team to bring services and specialists from the broader Stantec organization to our clients.

Help recruit and retain a team of water treatment professionals, at multiple levels, with exceptional technical skills.

Engage in delivery of drinking water projects as a subject matter expert, leveraging your expertise, industry best practices, and new or innovative technologies.

Work closely with Sector leaders, Practice leaders, Regional Growth Teams, Project Developers, and the Stantec Institute for Water Technology and Policy to leverage internal resources and match them up with projects and pursuits where they can bring value.

Consistently demonstrate a commitment to the Health and Safety culture within Stantec.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Proven project management and technical skills applicable to delivering Drinking Water projects.

The ability to organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines

An understanding of client expectations, project budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing.

Proficiency in writing and communications; an ability to work with and lead teams.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution. Licensed Professional Engineer is required. 15 years of directly relevant experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and sitting at a desk. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):
  • Lower Mainland$143,800/ BC Other Areas $135,700 - Lower Mainland $222,900/ BC Other Areas $210,300 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
