As part of our Health, Fitness, and Aquatics team, the Wellness & Personal Training Coordinator is responsible for delivering personal training sessions and group fitness classes, administering the Mywellness program, overseeing scheduling and quality control, and implementing initiatives that drive member engagement and retention.

As a Wellness and Personal Training Coordinator you will be responsible for leading fitness activities and supporting members to reach their health and fitness goals in spirit, mind and body.

Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street, Oakville, Ontario



Hours of work:

35 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday, including 1-2 evening shifts per week.

Responsibilities:



Deliver 10 high-quality personal training sessions per week, aligning with YMCA standards and member goals. Teach 4 group fitness classes weekly to promote engagement and community participation. Coordinate daily operations of wellness and personal training programs, ensuring consistent quality and service excellence. Manage and schedule wellness coaches to ensure adequate program coverage. Support new members with MyWellness onboarding and provide ongoing guidance to help them achieve their goals. Serve as the primary contact for wellness orientations and follow-ups. Provide assistance to members using the Technogym app and related digital tools. Monitor program quality, member satisfaction, and service delivery standards. Build strong, positive relationships with members to foster retention and community connection. Assist the Wellness Supervisor with hiring, onboarding, and training of personal trainers and wellness staff. Help drive personal training revenue growth through promotion, coaching, and team goal setting. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.

Requirements:



Current YMCA Personal Training Certification (or equivalent) Minimum 1-2 years of personal training experience Current CPR and First Aid Certification Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to outstanding customer service Availability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled Clear Police Reference Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening

Desirable

YMCA Group Fitness Certification Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
