We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Wellness Club Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our comprehensive wellness facility, encompassing a pool, gym, various fitness classes, personal training and therapy treatments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a high level of member satisfaction, managing staff, coordinating programs, and maintaining a welcoming and motivating environment for our members.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Oversee daily facility functions, including the pool, gym, fitness programs, and therapy treatments. Develop policies, collaborate with management, and improve communication.
Manage budgets, oversee membership dues, approve payroll, and plan facility improvements.
Ensure a welcoming environment, address member concerns, and enhance the overall experience.
Recruit, train, and supervise staff while fostering a motivated team.
Develop and evaluate fitness programs, coordinate schedules, and implement marketing initiatives.
Ensure cleanliness, schedule maintenance, and keep equipment in optimal condition. Oversee pool operations, including water chemistry, mechanical systems, and seasonal maintenance.
Enforce safety standards, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure proper chemical balancing and pool safety measures.
Required Skills, Experience and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Hold or obtain a BCRPA Pool Operators certification.
Proven experience in managing wellness facilities, with a focus on pools, gyms, and fitness classes.
Strong leadership skills to manage teams, set goals, and motivate staff to achieve project or educational objectives.
The ability to adapt to changing circumstances, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
Current certifications in WHIMIS, CPR or First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to fitness facilities.
Demonstrated qualities such as: hard working, highly motivated, strong leadership, customer service and communication skills, detail oriented, self-starer with the ability to manage time without a lot of supervision, perseverance, a love of learning and developing new skills, quick learner and highly organized.
