The Welder will be responsible for manually performing welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks on various structures, components, and equipment. You will use various welding techniques (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW) to fabricate, repair, and join metal components in different positions. You will interpret technical drawings, ensure welds meet quality standards, and maintain welding equipment. Effective communication with team members is key to ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to specification.
Responsibilities
Perform welding tasks using various techniques, including GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW to join, repair, or fabricate components and structures
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions with precision and quality
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to understand project requirements and execute welding tasks to precise specifications
Inspect completed welds for proper fusion, strength, and appearance as required to ensure weld quality and compliance with project standards
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and according to quality and safety standards
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of welding equipment and tools to ensure it's in proper working condition
Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, safety boots, and fire-resistant clothing
Requirements
Proven experience in using various welding techniques, including GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW
Journeyperson certification required
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to control welding tools and equipment
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and welding symbols to understand welding requirements
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures
Strong attention to detail and precision in completing welding tasks effectively
Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test including cannabis
