to join our production team. In this role, you'll be responsible for laying out, fitting, and fabricating metal components used to assemble structural forms and welded assemblies for both new and existing products. You'll work from engineering drawings and production standards to deliver high-quality results that meet our specifications.
Production Responsibilities
Lay out, position, and secure metal parts and assemblies according to specifications and blueprints using tools such as straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
Perform TIG and MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and bronze components and assemblies.
Cut, form, and prepare workpieces for welding, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design requirements.
Inspect grooves, angles, and gaps to verify alignment and quality before and after welding.
Grind, sand, and polish components to achieve required finishes.
Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment for each welding job.
Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Use hand tools, torches, or arc welding equipment to heat, form, and dress metal parts.
Interpret shop drawings and specifications to plan layouts, assemblies, and welding operations.
Develop templates and work aids to hold and align parts during assembly.
Determine appropriate welding methods and equipment based on material properties and production needs.
Clean and degrease parts using brushes, grinders, or chemicals.
Operate other shop equipment as needed to complete parts to specification.
Recommend improvements to enhance quality, productivity, or efficiency.
Inspect finished parts and assemblies to ensure accuracy and conformance with drawings.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Proficient in TIG and MIG welding.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Familiarity with grinders, sanders, and other finishing tools.
Knowledge of safe work practices and willingness to follow safety protocols.
