Position Summary

MacKinnon Magnetics is looking for a skilled and reliable

Welder

to support our transformer production process. This role focuses primarily on making electrical and mechanical connections, but we're looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a flexible mindset who's happy to jump in wherever help is needed on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Perform welding for transformer connections and related assemblies Weld using

TIG or MIG

Assist with general production and shop tasks as required Work safely and follow all health & safety procedures Collaborate with production, assembly, and engineering teams to meet quality and schedule requirements

Nice to Have

Experience with

oxy-acetylene brazing

Previous experience in transformer manufacturing, electrical equipment, or industrial fabrication Welding certifications (not required, but an asset)

Qualifications & Requirements

Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or general labour is an asset Comfortable using basic hand tools, measuring tools, and following written instructions Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new processes Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Willingness to follow safety procedures and contribute to a clean, organized workplace
