The Opportunity!

Heavy Metal Equipment & Rentals has an opening for an

experienced Red Seal/ Journeyman Welder

for a safety-sensitive position, filling in a leave position in Camrose on a

7/7 rotation

in a shop setting.

Once the leave is complete, the Welder will transfer to our Fort McMurray location, on a

14 /14 off rotation

.

The Job

Welders

are expected to work 12 hours per shift, alternating sets between days and nights.

Duties

include:

Check dozers, haul trucks, excavators and other heavy construction and mining equipment for proper performance Inspect equipment for defects and malfunctions Repair and replace defective parts, components and/or systems Test repaired equipment for proper performance and that it meets or exceeds manufacturer's specifications

What We're Looking For

:

A desire to make a difference and take pride in your work A minimum of

3 years

experience working with large construction and open pit mining equipment

MUST

include in depth experience with CAT, Komatsu, John Deere and Hitachi Superior troubleshooting, technical, and welding skills Shop and/or field work experience Demonstrated commitment to safety Collaborative communication style Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team A set of mechanic tools required for welding position

MUST

be able to pass a Respirator Fit test and comply with facial hair requirements to maintain a complete seal

Provide a minimum of a Class 5 Driver's License and

Driver's Abstract Provide a criminal record check Complete drug and alcohol screening with a negative result Complete a fitness evaluation related specifically to your position Provide copies of current certifications (if you do not have any of the training required to be on site, we will provide it for you)*
