What Will You Be Doing?



The Facility & Weekend Operations Lead is a key member of the Fitset Ninja Kelowna summer leadership team. This full-time seasonal role oversees all weekend program operations (open gym, birthday parties) and weekday evening operations, while also contributing to the safe daily running of our temporary facility at MNP Place.

This role combines leadership and hands-on coaching, with approximately 40-50% of time spent on coaching and guest-facing program delivery, and 50-60% dedicated to weekend and evening operational oversight, staff support, and facility responsibilities.

You'll ensure programs are delivered safely and joyfully, support coaches during busy periods, perform safety and equipment checks, and maintain the facility as a fun and welcoming environment for athletes and families.

Roles & Responsibilities



General Responsibilities

Model and reinforce Fitset Ninja's mission, values, and safety culture Act as a weekend/evening point person for staff and guests Provide constructive feedback to coaches to elevate performance Help implement consistent staff training and program standards Offer suggestions to improve operations and customer experience
Weekend Operations

Lead all weekend programming including open gym sessions and birthday party events Ensure programs start on time, run smoothly, and follow SOPs Support and supervise weekend coaches; act as the on-site decision-maker Host or lead weekend prep huddles Monitor staff roles and ensure coverage for breaks or absences Schedule weekend staff shifts in Homebase and manage time-off requests (in coordination with the Operations Lead & Program Coordinator) Open and close the facility on weekends
Weekday Evening Operations

Be present during weekday evening hours to support open gym or camp overflow activity Provide on-site leadership, customer support, and coaching as needed Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment Perform daily equipment safety checks and basic facility upkeep Close the facility at the end of evening shifts
Coaching & Guest Experience

Deliver fun, safe, high-energy programming for athletes Ensure that athletes can participate and be challenged regardless of age, fitness level and experience Build positive relationships with parents and participants Assist with open gym orientations, birthday party hosting, and general guest flow Uphold Fitset Ninja's coaching standards and safety guidelines
Equipment & Facility Management

Conduct safety inspections of obstacles and equipment Complete basic cleaning and organization tasks to maintain the facility Monitor supplies and assist with ordering facility concession items Ensure all obstacles and mats are set up safely and correctly for each program block

Qualifications



Prior athletic experience and experience working with children Proven leadership capabilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to perform physical tasks including moving mats, lifting modular equipment, and being on your feet for most of the day Valid Standard First Aid/CPR-C (or willing to obtain within 3 months) Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (prior to start) Completion of Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders (within 1 month of hire) Available to work every

Saturday and Sunday
