C.M. Wood is seeking a Web Graphic Designer to work on several projects, both with existing and future clients. This position is a contract position, with the potential to become a full time position. C.M. Wood is a distributed office with 2 locations. A laptop with Graphic Design software and your own space to work is a requirement of the position.Education
A Fine Arts or Graphical Design degree is desired, but not required. Demonstrated experience with web design specifically is required for this position.Typical Duties
At various times, the Web Graphic Designer will be responible for the following:- meeting clients or account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the particular project;
- interpreting the client\'s business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose;
- estimating the time required to complete the work and providing quotes for client and or C.M. Wood\'s Proposal Writer;
- thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts;
- using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time;
- presenting finalized ideas and concepts to clients, account managers, or C.M. Wood Inc Team Members, as required;
- working with a wide range of media, including photography
- contributing ideas and design artwork to the overall benefit of the project;
- demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches;
- working on layouts and artworking pages ready for print;
- keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs and platforms such as QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash;
- developing interactive design;
- working as part of a team with printers, other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.
