Web Design Coordinator Volunteer



Tipi of Hope Foundation is an Indigenous-founded and led Registered Charity based in Calgary. With the support of volunteer Board Members, we provide a path for Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities to create a joint vision of reconciliation. We work collaboratively with all Indigenous peoples, communities, organizations, and groups to ensure meaningful action.

The Role



As our Web Design Coordinator, this

unpaid volunteer position

can help you build your profile or resume. This position is remote and requires the volunteer to have access to their own computer and workspace. As a Web Design Coordinator, you will create impactful content, enhance our website, and engage with our target audience. This position is ideal for an outgoing and creative individual passionate about making a difference in the lives of Indigenous Peoples and advancing reconciliation.

What are we looking for?



Website Management Manage and update website pages to reflect current marketing campaigns, our programs and brand standards. Design, build, and maintain front-end features to improve user experience and functionality. Work with our Members and Board Members to align website content with Charity goals. Analyze website performance metrics and recommend improvements to enhance user engagement and conversion rates. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, ensuring a seamless digital experience.

Responsibilities



Web Development: Proficiency in WordPress. Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills and ability to overcome implementation challenges. Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented: Attention to detail to ensure high-quality, error-free work. Collaborate with Board Members to increase and maintain a positive website presence. Responsible for collecting data and working with our Vice President to report on the data and provide insights to our Board Members on website performance. We foresee extensive website updates, which, once completed, will significantly decrease the hours per month. We see an initial commitment to complete all website updates (about 10 hours) and 2 hours per month thereafter.
Note: we have a website host company that updates the backend monthly. Although you will collaborate with them, you will not be accountable for this part of the website maintenance.

Qualifications



Graduated or enrolled in college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program. 2 years of experience in social media management or a similar role. Proficient knowledge of WordPress. Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, history, and the unique challenges facing Indigenous communities. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners, including Indigenous communities and organizations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and an ability to keep on top of workload. Sound computer skills, including operating Google Suite. Strong creative design skills and competency using design platforms such as Canva and Photoshop. Excellent communication and project management skills.
Note: You must be able to commit to one year with Tipi of Hope Foundation.
