We are seeking a skilled and experienced Waterproofing Foreman to join our team and oversee on-site construction activities at various jobsites all throughout Nova Scotia.
Position Overview:
Responsible for leading and overseeing site operations for active projects involving concrete waterproofing. Managing a team and keeping in close communication with the Project Management team.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of waterproofing experience with hot applied and cold applied waterproofing application.
• Experience with applying blueskin, spray cold, and damp proofing applications.
• Strong understanding of structural waterproofing, coating material and applications.
• Experience with traffic deck membrane applications.
• Experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
• Capable of handling/lifting heavy loads (more than 100 lbs).
• Must be reliable, punctual and possess a positive attitude.
• Can work under pressure to meet company deadlines.
• Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in waterproofing.
• Comfortable working variable hours and travelling to various locations throughout Nova Scotia.
• Capable of carrying out repetitive activities in a physically demanding work environment.
• Able to work as a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers, ensuring all tasks are being completed in a safe and timely manner.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable transportation to and from jobsites or pickup locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Waterproofing application, working with a range of waterproofing chemicals and coating products.
• Install waterproofing treatment using equipment in accordance with established procedures and practices.
• Run and maintain hot applied waterproofing kettle.
• Regularly monitor and maintain waterproofing equipment to ensure it remains in working order.
• Perform integrity testing and troubleshooting testing to identify any breeches or defects in existing waterproofing membrane/coatings.
• Prepare above and below-ground structural surfaces (concrete or other masonry.
surfaces) for waterproofing applications.
• Apply waterproofing and damp-proofing coatings, utilizing various materials.
• Perform installation of blindside waterproofing systems.
• Installation of Hot Rubber, Torch on Membrane, Urethan Coating Systems, and Blindside Waterproofing Systems.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair waterproofing issues as needed.
