This position is based out of our Winnipeg office, reporting to the Director, Water Infrastructure Western Canada. How will you contribute to the team? To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
  • Lead water and wastewater process design team in preliminary and detailed engineering design packages including drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Preparing process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
  • Develop hydraulic calculations for process design.
  • Work with multidisciplinary design teams in the preparation of engineering design packages.
  • Project management to ensure quality of project deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Work with applicable water and wastewater regulations and compliance strategies that maximize operating flexibility and reduce total project costs.
  • Participate in water and wastewater proposal preparation.
  • Leading, guiding, and mentoring a team of intermediate and junior staff.
What will you contribute?
  • University degree in Civil and mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • A master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Environmental, or Chemical Engineering related to water and wastewater treatment preferred.
  • Professional Engineer, or eligible for registration as professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Water and Wastewater Process Design.
  • Proven expertise and advanced knowledge in pumping and treatment technologies and recognized as a technical leader.
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills, and ability to represent the design team to the client.
  • Experience with preparing preliminary and detailed engineering design; contract specifications and special provisions; and tender documents.
  • Familiarity with municipal and provincial design standards in Manitoba and other Canadian provinces.
  • Familiar with industrial wastewater process design is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, written and spoken) an asset.
