In the role, you will work with a highly collaborative team to advance challenging and meaningful projects across multiple market sectors, and, as part of this, use your skills and expertise to contribute to client deliverables through field assessments, desktop-based analyses and modelling exercises, and technical reporting. It is a phenomenal opportunity to join a top-notch group of surface water and groundwater practitioners; geared to deliver high-quality, environmental consulting services with a focus on integrity, grit, and collaboration. The role offers competitive pay and benefits, multiple avenues for technical development and career growth, a flexible work schedule, and a committed senior support and mentorship network.
What You'll Do:
:
Support a wide range of project work and proposal pursuits with a focus on the technical disciplines of surface water and hydrogeology:
+ Baseline characterization studies, effects assessments, and water management analyses to support environmental assessments and other development planning initiatives;
+ Surface water and groundwater modelling assessments to support the design and implementation of development works;
+ Water-related permitting and regulatory approval activities; and
+ Environmental monitoring and inspections during construction.
Complete or coordinate field studies that include streamflow and groundwater level monitoring, erosion and sediment control inspections, aquifer testing programs, and surface water and groundwater quality sampling.
Implement desktop-based analyses that involve hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, compilation and interpretation of water quality and hydrometric data, and hydrotechnical and hydrogeological modelling investigations (to assess surface water and groundwater flow, interaction, availability, etc.).
Take charge of technical reports, proposals, and other key client deliverables.
Develop positive working relationships in a highly dynamic and supportive team environment.
Provide creative and innovative solutions for projects by staying current/up-to-speed on relevant regulatory drivers, emerging technologies, and market demands.

University or equivalent education in the hydrotechnical or hydrogeological disciplines (ideally a B.Eng., M.Eng., or M.Sc.) with associated professional credentials (P.Eng. or P.Geo.) or the eligibility to register with PEO or PGO.
Experience with hydrology and hydraulic analyses, hydrotechnical and hydrogeological modelling applications, water-related monitoring and field programs, water management planning and design work, environmental assessment and regulatory permitting activities, and environmental statistics and related data analyses.
Proficiency with industry standard surface water and groundwater modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, MODFLOW), applied statistics, and data management tools.
Strong understanding of Canadian-based environmental policies and regulations.
Proven track record as a project manager and/or technical field or office lead on projects of varying scale and complexity, with the know-how for prioritizing tasks.
Good outdoor skills with demonstrated experience working in the field and installing/maintaining scientific instrumentation; ideally holding certification in boat and ATV operation.
Strong awareness of health and safety risks and mitigation requirements for working in and near water.
