Job Description


MatrixHR is currently seeking a foreman for an underground project in Grande Prairie AB. This position is responsible for supervision of the crew and equipment. As well, is also responsible for presenting a professional image and attitude in all dealings with clients, the public.Please note there are accommodations provided for non-local workers

  • Hourly rate:$39.65-42.75.
  • Hours: Monday - Saturday (10-12 hours/ day).
  • Vacation pay is 9.6% on all earnings at regular rate.
  • Need to be able to drive a company truck (7 demerits) which is important.
General Responsibilities:
  • Supervise work at the assigned jobsite, including conducting daily field safety & environmental inspections as required, and maintain records and reporting.
  • Check the delivery of materials to verify the accuracy.
  • Ensure the materials required are available before they are needed.
  • Ensure good employee relations are maintained.
  • Ensure all employees have had orientation training for the tasks they are required to perform and/or equipment they are expected to operate.
  • Responsible for reviewing, completing, and making corrections to all required documentation.
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner in conjunction with the Safety/Project Supervisor and duties are carried out as per OH&S.
  • Other duties, as may be defined from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in underground utility construction.
  • Must have direct underground experience - specifically meaning sewer and water experience or pipelayer experience.
  • High School education or extensive experience.
  • Valid Class 5 AB drivers license with a clean abstract.
  • Thorough knowledge of WCB Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Proficient in reading drafts, drawings, and prints.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required.
