The Job:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable team lead to help oversee the daily operations of our Waste & Recycling Centre. This role supports the site supervisor/manager in ensuring the facility runs smoothly, safely, and in line with regulations. The ideal candidate has some experience in waste, recycling, or industrial operations and is looking to grow into a larger leadership role over time.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Support & Scheduling

Assist with scheduling and organizing team members to meet operational needs Support training of new staff and act as a first point of contact for daily questions

Waste & Recycling Operations

Help coordinate the movement of outgoing waste and recycling materials Ensure materials are prepared and staged for timely pickup

Site & Equipment Upkeep

Monitor basic facility and equipment needs; report issues and coordinate with maintenance teams as required Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the yard and buildings

Safety & Compliance

Promote safe work practices and assist with regular safety checks Report and escalate any hazards or incidents

Reporting & Communication

Track daily activity and share updates with the supervisor/manager Support record-keeping and reporting requirements as needed

Qualifications

1-2 years of experience in waste management, industrial, or related operations Previous lead-hand or team support experience is an asset Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Basic knowledge of health & safety practices Comfortable using basic computer systems and completing reports Valid driver's license; equipment operation experience is an asset
