Wash Bay Labourer

Job Description

Surerus is looking for a Wash Bay Labourer to join our team in Gibbons, Alberta. You'll be responsible for keeping incoming heavy duty and light duty equipment cleaned and maintained prior to servicing and prior to being dispatched to projects. This position will also provide general support on a variety of tasks within the Gibbons shop and yard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Comply with Surerus safety practices and procedures Keep units clean and organized by washing exteriors and having them ready for servicing or dispatch Ensuring the wash bay is maintained and kept in a clean and orderly condition by sweeping and washing the shop as necessary Clear walkways and ensure the front of wash bays are kept clear of debris and snow, including laying down ice melt in areas to prevent slips, trips, and falls. Ongoing tidying, including disposing of garbage, cleaning up fluids on floors and other duties as necessary Handing in paperwork as required by administration and the safety department Reporting all unsafe conditions, hazards, and equipment damage immediately to the Supervisor Perform daily safety and maintenance checks Fill out and submit all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner Ensure the shop area is kept clean, tidy, and free from hazards at all times
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:



Qualifications

:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Valid class 5 drivers license

Experience

:
1 - 3 years of relevant experience Previous experience with equipment used in pipeline construction is an asset

Skills & Knowledge

:
Understanding of the oil & gas and pipeline construction industry preferred Self-starter, with problem solving skills and adaptability Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team Safety conscious and aware of job site protocols Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures Attention to detail and good communication skills



WORKING CONDITIONS:



This position is based in our newly renovated shop in Gibbons, Alberta and works a schedule of 8 - 10 hour days, 5 - 6 days a week.



Steel-toed boots and successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test are required as a condition of employment.
