The Warranty Coordinator is responsible for managing and exceeding client expectations. You will act as a client liaison with this relationship starting two (2) weeks prior to the house closing and carrying through to the end of the Tarion warranty period. You will also work with homeowners regarding any ongoing issues on their home, for the life of their home.
Specific Responsibilities:
Liaise with purchasers; answering questions and proactively addressing concerns brought forward by purchasers
Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and Quality Assurance Inspections (QA)
Manage all Tarion Warranty program policies, procedures and requirements
Tarion dispute resolution; managing up to an including request for conciliation, working with purchasers and Tarion to find amicable resolution to claims
Manage Initial Form, Mid-Year Form and Year-end Form walk-throughs with homeowner by delegating for the arrangement of scheduled appointments
Coordinates all documentation of Warranty and Service Requests and lists including PDI Form, Initial Form, Mid-Year Form and Year-End Form signoffs and updating systems.
Hold trade partners accountable for completion of warranty work
Review Customer Satisfaction Surveys
Maintains all internal correspondence and faxes
Ensures all binder preparation is up-to-date, and all components are accurate
Processes and distributes site schedules to appropriate trades, suppliers, building officials and site staff for work required/performed and ensures it is displayed within the site office
Ensures Occupancy Inspection Report has been distributed to the appropriate internal stakeholders
Follows up with trades on shortage of material
Complies with materials management policies
Ensures site office is clean and presentable
Maintain inventory of office supplies and materials
Supports the Site Supervisor in overseeing of the timely and quality construction of each house built in an effort to maximize homeowner's satisfaction
Maintains and processes all Health and Safety documentation and posts within site office
Documents and research all written and verbal requests from homeowners ensuring follow up to confirm completion.
Maintain, update and confirm dates and details of construction schedule and posts at the site office.
Responsible for involvement with site staff including staff safety, training, delegation of work, monitoring productivity and quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provided leadership and instruction to construction workers, including site staff, contractors and suppliers as well as to visitors on the jobsite.
Responsible for the care and maintenance of all company owned/rented equipment including vehicles, tools and office equipment
Ensures compliance with all reporting procedures including but not limited to, construction schedule reporting, quality assurance reporting, health & safety reporting, accident reporting, tools/equipment reporting and staff reporting
Act as the liaison with subcontractors to expedite drawings and related information.
Monitor new home sales and ensure Tarion enrolments are completed as required.
Liaise directly with decor and sales staff to ensure the requirements for the job are met.
Prepare applications for Gas and Hydro service and request meters as per construction schedule
Request Water Heater and Water Meter as per the construction schedule
Position Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of Tarion warranty program
In-depth knowledge of Pre-Delivery Inspection process
Strong construction knowledge
Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills Accuracy and attention to detail while working under tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Assertive, comfortable communicating with various types of individuals.
Good interpersonal skills; good team player.
Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary school degree or diploma in a construction related area of study
Minimum of 10 years of direct work experience working in residential construction
A solid understanding of all residential construction trades and construction techniques
Expert knowledge of Tarion guidelines
Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation in relation to the construction industry, specifically residential construction
Knowledge of OH&S regulations and related residential building codes
Possess a valid driver's license
First Aid certification considered required
ERP knowledge an asset
Working Conditions:
Active construction site environment
Travel to the site, and off-site locations will be required
Overtime as required
Work both indoors and outdoors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 - 44 per week
