Warming Centre Supervisor

to support the operations of our winter Warming Centre, providing essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

This leadership role ensures effective program delivery, strong staff support, and high-quality, client-directed service throughout the winter season.

Key Responsibilities



Lead and support Shift Supervisors to deliver inclusive, client-centered services in a fast-paced shelter setting. Oversee activation of the Warming Centre upon City of Toronto Cold Weather Alerts. Manage day-to-day operations, scheduling, on-call staffing, and emergency replacements. Coordinate delivery of Breaking Barriers workshops on site. Ensure program meets City of Toronto Quality Assurance requirements. Maintain communication with supervisors and liaise with internal teams for facility and operational needs. Build and maintain community partnerships and referral pathways. Support data collection, outcome tracking, and reporting. Supervise Peer Staff meetings, training, and development. Uphold TSSS Shelter Standards and the CONC Code of Conduct.

Qualifications



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline. At least 2 years' experience supporting vulnerable adults experiencing homelessness, mental illness, or complex health needs; shelter experience preferred. Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership equivalent. Knowledge of unionized environments and Collective Agreements considered an asset. Strong communication, crisis management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Anti-Oppression and Anti-Racism frameworks. Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends. Standard First Aid & CPR; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention; Trauma-Informed Care required. Second language an asset.
