Job Summary
The Warehouse Worker is responsible for receiving goods and preparation of shipping that includes order selecting, labelling and packing while following company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Open received boxes and physically count the items to make sure the quantity matches as per the packing list
Keep records of items received and report for any discrepancies
Responsible for reporting damaged cargo coming into the warehouse; must be signed for as damaged and the damaged materials must not be shipped. Both instances must be reported to the warehouse supervisor immediately
Place labels and stock inventory for received products from vendors
Sort, organize, and store products in designated areas
Accurately pick and pack products in proper carton for shipping
Mark and label on packages, tags, or products, using marking tools
Measure, weigh, and physically count products
Ensure packing instructions are followed
Place packed boxes in specified areas for loading
Work on same day shipping
Responsible for verifying all documentation (way bills, packing lists)
Use warehousing management system and maintain accuracy of inventory
Communicate with client representatives and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, objectives and business ethics
Practice safe warehouse procedures, identify potential hazards, and recommend improvements where necessary
Report any work-related injuries or accidents to Supervisor/Manager
Maintain warehouse in a neat, orderly and efficient fashion Various other duties as may be required
Qualifications
Basic warehouse knowledge
Good manual dexterity and ability to follow instructions
Must be comfortable with extended periods of standing
Must be able to keep up the pace with regular associates
Ability to move up 30lbs at any given time
Good work ethic and handle repetitive work
Good communication skills to follow direction given by the supervisor
Able to multi tasks and can perform other tasks than what's assigned
Attention to details, accurate counting, tally sheet recording
Education/Certifications
High School Diploma
WHMIS Training
TDG Certificate is an asset
Location and Work Environment
Warehouse within Toronto Branch location
Exposure to a noisy environment and possible outside weather conditions
Some stress related to deadlines and prioritization of tasks
Some exposure to DG in the warehouse
May have significant periods of standing, walking, carrying, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing or pulling
