Warehouse Technician

Job Description



Reporting to the Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor, the Technician is responsible for receiving and shipping, managing service and inventories, delivering material to job sites when necessary and keeping the warehouse organized as well as other duties as may be assigned.


Major Responsibilities


  • Provide and promote a Safe and Healthy work area and ensure Safety measures are in place and enforced;
  • Organize, manage and control the different activities concerning the receiving and distribution of fuel;
  • Capture fuel distribution data in Fuel Tracker application.
  • Maintain direct working relationships with Purchasing, Logistics, and Operations concerning material delivery schedules of shipments;
  • Review receiving documentation including: packing lists, and bills of lading for accuracy and completeness;
  • Perform count and inspection of all arriving material (Rail/Air). Ensure receipt documentation is retained and recorded in SAP Material Management System;
  • Manage all freight discharging activities inside Rail Loop;
  • Freight collection from Airport or rail station, working in all weather environments is required;
  • Estimate shipping volumes and manages site laydown areas and warehouses
  • Identify specific handling and/or specific storage and preservation requirements;
  • Manage and review inventory levels by product and category, analyzing obsolete items, managing seasonal items and maintaining the MM (Material Management) database;
  • Perform cyclical inventory accounting and specific physical inventory audits;
  • Carry out investigations, accident/incident analyses and risk analyses concerning stores related contractors;


In order to fulfill these responsibilities, you will be expected to manage and handle the following working conditions; A fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads of up to 60 pounds, physically demanding, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bending.


Your Profile
  • Post-secondary education or Trade certification would be an asset;
  • Minimum one (1) year warehouse/parts room experience preferably in a Mining/Processing Plant environment;
  • Experience with warehouse forms and processes (Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Freight bill of lading, etc.);
  • Certification in H2S Alive, First Aid and WHMIS;
  • Strong computer skills (intermediate with MS Excel) are required ? SAP experience is a strong asset;
  • Operating Licence for forklift or telehandler;
  • Good communication skills in both English (required) and French (strong asset);
  • Must be capable of lifting medium to heavy materials up to 60 pounds;
  • A valid Class 5 Driver?s License.
