Torngait Services Inc. (TSI) is a Limited Partnership between the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies (NGC) and ATCO Structures and Logistics (ASL). TSI is currently providing site services personnel to the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Nickel Mine in Labrador. TSI is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following temporary fly-in/fly out position: LEVEL 5 \xe2\x80\x93 Warehouse Technician (Competition # 2023-012) The position is on a 14 days \xe2\x80\x9consite\xe2\x80\x9d and 14 days \xe2\x80\x9coffsite\xe2\x80\x9d rotation at the Voisey\xe2\x80\x99s Bay Nickel Mine located in Labrador. The duration of this position is anticipated until December 2023 with the possibility of extension. Duties include but not limited to the following:

• Ensure a safety-first standard exists on a day-to-day basis by doing regular safety inspections on equipment and area. The incumbent must know all safety policies and strictly adhere to them;
• Support all customer requests for counter service, part requests, and information requests;
• Review all construction requests, retrieve parts and deliver as required. Follow-up on all issues;
• Receive all goods arriving at warehouse, insuring accuracy and quality;
• Stock counts are to be completed on a scheduled basis;
• Maintain all stock facilities including central warehouse, free issue stations, and outdoor storage in an organized clean and safe manner;
• Provide feedback to end users, prepare items for shipment, and prepare all related documents for safety, customs, ground, sea or air transport;
• Daily checks to ensure no spills or hazards exist;
• Operate electric hoist dock levelers, power doors, a variety of forklifts, order pickers, barrel lifters, side loaders, etc.;
• Unload material from boom trucks or transports using larger forklift when required;
• Operate an outdoor forklift over roads or rough ground;
• Work day or night shift as required.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Valid telehandler operator certificate (preferred)
• Forklift license classes: 2, 4, 5, 7 an asset but not required
• Must have a good understanding of Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and ensure work is conducted accordingly.
• Ability to do the following: Climbing, Crouching/Squatting, Kneeling/Crawling, Trunk bending, stooping, and reaching up and out for material.
• The ability to manage heavy physical work. This is defined as maximal lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in extreme cold climate.

Experience:

• 5 years of relative warehouse and purchasing related experience.
• Demonstrated experience with implementing warehouse systems during mine start-ups, warehousing of materials in cold arctic climates and experience involving warehouse stocks more than 10,000-line items.

Education:

• Completion of post-secondary education related to Warehouse Management, Inventory Control or related field.
