We are currently seeking a Warehouse Team Lead to be based in our Gallery Specialty Hardware office in North York, Ontario Canada.

Job Summary

We are looking for a driven team member to lead the pace for the shift, ensuring that the standard operating procedures for the department are being followed along with supporting the warehouse staff to ensure that all tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner. We would expect the Warehouse Team Lead to provide coverage and manage duties and responsibilities of the Plant Manager when required (vacations / personal days).

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Activities

  • Ensure all customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate pick slips to finished products, pick, pack, and ship product.
  • Receive inbound freight and properly stack and pack, product onto shelves for inventory.
  • Verify and close the load using RF equipment and computer according to departmental procedures.
  • Decipher and deliver inbound products to the production room.
  • Prepare and affix shipping labels accurate to order details.
  • Interact with customers who arrive at the facility to receive their products.
  • Prepare product- securely stretch wrap or place product into cartons, ensure all product is in saleable condition.
  • High level of focus to service same day shipping demands
  • Utilize a computer to check shipping/receiving information, and schedule couriers for pickups.
  • Answer warehouse phones properly, requesting all necessary information such as SKU number, part number, bin location and quantity.
  • Perform shipment tracking as requested.
  • Assist in daily inventory cycle count.
  • Responsible for the on-time throughput and quality control of all orders processed through production room
  • Ensure company standards for quality and customer service are achieved.
  • Keep warehouse areas organized, swept, clean and hazard free.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels of consumable supplies per business demand
  • Daily tracking of WO status, including prioritizing workflow, ensuring product demand meets customer promise timelines.
  • Focus on tracking and reducing late WO\'s.
  • Liaison between production staff and Customer Service team to communicate change in order status, shipping delays.
  • As required perform routine production room functions, key cutting, pinning, stamping etc.
  • Review RGA (return goods) to verify product failure.
Admin Responsibilities
  • Record and maintain vacation tracking and absenteeism tracking.
  • Assist with employee questions and requirements pertaining to daily operations and policies.
  • Assist in the interviewing of staff as needed.
  • Participating in annual performance review feedback cycle.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with employee engagement activities and ensure that major milestones are celebrated at the site on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in communication and roll out of upcoming projects, implementations and changes as required.
  • Monitor and post site KPI\'s to keep team updated on continuous improvement projects.
  • Ensure the team is consistently adhering to customer service standards.
  • Oversee and manage daily production room functions.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and report on department KPI\'s.
  • Assist with implementation of Kaizen events.
  • Lead 5S initiatives
  • Ongoing implementation of new processes to improve throughput.
  • Training, mentoring, coaching staff as required in relation to customer handling, operational processes, and ERP functionality.
  • Active participation on Health and Safety committee with associated tasks and responsibilities
  • General maintenance and safe upkeep of all tools and equipment - upon training and certification: operate materials handling equipment to include but not limited to forklifts, reach lifts and pallet jacks.
  • Lead daily team huddles communicating priorities and performance measures/results.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of SOP\'s and daily execution of best practices.
