We are looking to hire a Supervisor for our Contract Logistics division based in Markham.

YOUR ROLE

The Warehouse Supervisor is fully responsible for the safe, high-quality, and productive delivery of 3PL logistics services to our internal and external customers. Main responsibilities for this role include the following and are related to customer relationships, financial accountabilities, and people management. The RPIC / ARPIC will assist with transactions involving precursors as required (if applicable).

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Escalate customer issues to Manager quickly when necessary.
  • Assist with driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in conference calls and meetings when necessary. Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when communicating directly with customer representatives.
  • Balancing overtime / agency use.
  • Staff planning to avoid excess overtime expenses.
  • Maintain Time and Attendance system for agency and full time staff on a daily basis following policies and procedures.
  • Manage performance of all reports.
  • Ensure adequate training of staff.
  • Support and guide growth and development of direct reports.
  • Ensure timely performance evaluations.
  • Deal with performance issues and consult with HR / Management guidance for complex issues.
  • Ensure staff without computer / email access has access to important information (e.g., from HR, Management, etc.).
  • Follow programs implemented to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility.
  • Oversee all warehouse services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner.
  • Keep teams up to date with daily operational issues, priorities, etc.
  • Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety & Security programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property.
  • Comply with GMP requirements as applicable to ensure that all quality and regulatory requirements of Health Canada and other applicable authorities and client requirements are met.
  • Strive for continuous improvements in all facets of warehouse operations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports regarding warehouse operations.
  • In collaboration with Operations Manager, keep warehouse supplies stocked and re-order when needed using cost-saving methods when available.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
  • 3-7+ years experience in Contract Logistics / 3PL / Distribution Centre / Warehouse environment.
  • 2-3+ years leadership / supervisory experience with 10-15+ direct reports.
  • Managerial / direct experience with distribution centre processes required (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, returns, value added processing and sub-assembly).
  • Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and cost structures.
  • Knowledge of all applicable health and safety and employment standards legislation,
  • Knowledge of various production and quality systems (GxP, ISO, Document Control, Lean, TPS, Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Diploma/Degree in International Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification(s) in applicable material handling equipment is considered an asset.
  • Strong customer orientation and problem solving skills.
  • Proven proficiency in an automated warehouse environment, working knowledge of WMS technologies and Warehouse Distribution environment.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical distribution centre is considered an asset.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work various shifts when required in a 24/7 environment.
