Your Responsibilities

As a Supervisor for John Deere Regional Distribution Center located in Edmonton, AB you will be responsible for the supervision of warehouse staff on your assigned shift to ensure all safety, productivity, quality and operational execution goals are achieved. Supervisors are also key members of several teams driving improvement initiatives in the warehouse. In addition, you will:

• Monitor, plan and provide supervision to warehouse employees on assigned shift to attain desired performance results for both the customer and the business. These can include productivity, quality, efficiency, safety, cycle time and customer service
• Provide guidance and support to warehouse staff to assist them to achieve high level results and satisfaction consistent with division goals and metrics. Conduct monthly performance reviews with all staff.
• Support the execution of operational projects in the areas of Safety, Continuous Improvement, Warehouse Optimization and 5S
• On-board and train new staff, providing a positive experience to new John Deere employees.
• Ensure employee adherence to all applicable policies and procedures.
• Investigate, analyze and resolve various system, part, people or process issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs and improve processes/performance.
• Administer time cards, vacation requests and work rules appropriate for the unit
• Actively engage with co-workers to help drive continuous improvement.
• Co-lead the unit Joint Health and Safety Committee

What Skills You Need

• Able to work 9:30am to 6pm shift.
• As required, willing to work daily overtime and every second Saturday. This role is also required to work a rotational on call schedule
• Demonstrated ability to create trust, build effective relationships, communicate openly and manage conflict
• Ability to execute consistently and prioritize work load in a fast paced and changing environment
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to learn all applicable safety laws and legislation
• Job requires supervisor to be present on the warehouse floor, physically able to be on your feet a large portion of the day.

• Background in parts, agriculture or heavy equipment
• Experience in implementation of new technologies, processes

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Business, Logistics, Supply Management, Engineering
