POSITION DESCRIPTION: \xc2\xb7 Schedule and allocate work to the hourly employees to ensure orders will be picked, packed and shipped in an efficient manner. This involves setting procedures to decide which orders to be dealt as a priority, which carrier to use, the time table for trucks coming in and out etc. \xc2\xb7 In the case of returns, ensures that they are checked and stocked in accordance with clients\xe2\x80\x99 instructions. \xc2\xb7 Maintain employees\xe2\x80\x99 attendance records. Makes sure the employment standards comply with the legislation, and conduct performance reviews. \xc2\xb7 Train employees. Whenever necessary, conduct counseling with employees and maintain discipline. \xc2\xb7 Plan staff requirements to meet future operational needs. \xc2\xb7 Participate in improving the efficiency of the warehouse operations, i.e. reviews procedures, modifies equipment. \xc2\xb7 Oversee the housekeeping of the warehouse, i.e. safety, security, machine maintenance, layout, stocking, inventory control of warehouse materials etc. \xc2\xb7 Deal with unforeseen situations, i.e. requests for shipment of life saving drugs under emergency. \xc2\xb7 On call 24 hours per day, 7 days a week for emergencies SKILLS AND TRAINING REQUIRED: \xc2\xb7 Good verbal communication with staff, giving clear and concise instructions. Ability to write clearly. \xc2\xb7 Good labor relations skills to deal effectively with associates. \xc2\xb7 Ability to make decisions within well-defined standard practices and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Good analytical skills to solve inventory discrepancies. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: \xc2\xb7 Secondary school diploma \xc2\xb7 2 years warehouse operations experience plus 3-5 years\' supervisory experience.
