Warehouse Person

Summary
The warehouse person is responsible for receiving, storing, pulling, and shipping product in the warehouse. The warehouse person pulls and reviews product to send to client sites to ensure efficient and accurate operation of delivery and installation crews on client projects. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail as well as a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities and Duties
Shipping and Receiving
Monitors ERP dashboards for receipt forecasting, coordinating receipt of product and scheduling dock appointments.
Receive product in the warehouse, verifying to packing slip and purchase order; enter receivings and assigned warehouse locations into ERP
Inspects product for freight or any visible damage; documents any shortage or damage on bills of lading, packing slips, and punch list; follows company procedures for freight claim documentation and process
Prints pick tickets for daily product pulls, pulling product from racking and floor locations to stage for delivery crews
Pre-assembles product as required. Assists delivery crews with loading for all shipments out of warehouse, ensuring that product is protected, and vehicles are properly packed. Have delivery crew driver sign off on pick ticket to verify all product needed for the job has been loaded
Returns and Freight Out
Prepares product to be returned to manufacturers by ensuring that Return Authorization is complete
Pack furniture to prevent damage and per manufacturer's instructions
Complete Bill of Lading and packing slips as required
Call carrier for pick up and file copies of all documentation
Warehouse Organization and Maintenance
Maintains warehouse in clean, neat, and highly organized manner, including all stored product, supplies, and equipment. Brooming and Disposal to bins as needed.
Ensures that all product that is palletized is neatly stacked and shrink wrapped to secure and protect the product/boxes; that all box labels are visible from the aisle and product can be removed safely and easily from the racking
Ensures all product stored in the racking and on floor locations is organized, protected from damage and that aisles are clear
Reports all incidents, near misses and follows all Health & Safety policies and building security procedures
Participates in warehouse inventory and audit processes
Qualifications
Previous furniture warehouse shipping and receiving experience is required
Intermediate to advanced computer skills are required as this role performs work using specialized computer software. The ability to learn new software quickly is required for success within this role. McCrum's may test applicants to verify skillset.
Experience in ERP systems or warehousing software is considered a strong asset
Must have the ability to maintain professionalism and balance multiple competing priorities while working in a collaborative team environment
Keen attention to detail is required as this role involves ensuring accuracy of received product documentation
The ability to use of Forklifts is required. Existing forklift license is an asset; training and certification in forklifts will be provided
Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50Lbs (23Kg) independently and safely is required. Heavier objects may be lifted with assistance
