Position Summary Thales is looking for a part time fixed term Warehouse Operator responsible for the timely and efficient flow of materials through the warehouse and in the dockyard to support ship maintenance activity. Manual and automated functions include but will not be limited to the processing of receipts, shipping requirements, inventory control related tasks and material routing functions to/from the dockyard for maintenance work. Key Areas of Responsibility
Ensuring the effective and timely execution of logistic activities. This function shall strive to provide an uninterrupted flow of goods and/or services required by the organization.
Receiving - verify & inspect incoming material & documentation, process receipts, track shipments; Shipping - prepare outgoing freight; complete documentation and labelling.
Issue, pick, package & move material; distribute parts for customer delivery; Locate and store inventory in designated & approved storage areas IAW applicable statutory regulations; Inventory control functions including cycle counting and stocktaking tasks.
Accurate and timely data entry into the Inventory Management System to update material activity and status; Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement initiates, attend meetings; Prepare and generate warehouse reports, maintain registers, record keeping.
Operate non-motorized material handling equipment (MHE); load/unload transport vehicles & containers.
General daily housekeeping to maintain a high level of cleanliness in the work areas.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 1- 2 years of relevant experience performing similar activities within a warehouse environment;
Previous experience using SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system;
Familiarization with Occupational Health, Safety & Environment policies & procedures;
Grade 12 minimum with warehouse operations experience;
Material management software systems experience and previous experience in the Defense Industry an asset.
Physical Demands
This role will be physically demanding with the requirement to lift up to 22kg/50lbs and walk or stand for the majority of the working shift.
Special Position Requirements
Role will require working on site from the warehouse.
Schedule: 24 working hours per week Monday- Friday.
