Position Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations management of the warehouse to ensure performance indicators are achieved, and budgeted targets are being met. Responsible for warehouse staff scheduling, work assignments, training, and discipline.

Location: 10770 25 Street, NE, Unit 104, Calgary

Schedule: Monday to Friday, days

What you will do

  • Coach and develop warehouse staff and supervisors;
  • Monitor staff to ensure procedural accuracy and policy compliance;
  • Administer discipline for warehouse staff;
  • Hiring warehouse and driver employees;
  • Direct the operations to ensure customer expectations are met;
  • Monitor KPIs and lead the operations team towards targets;
  • Manage warehouse space to ensure it is used efficiently and make any changes to the storage profile that are in-line with customer expectations, budget targets, and best warehouse practices;
  • Monitor with a proactive approach to driver productivity, customer service and safety;
  • Ensure CSRs, driver and warehouse supervisors are aware of customer expectations and requirements, and are meeting them;
  • Ensure office staff and warehouse team are aligned to customer expectations and budget targets;
  • Ensure productivity expectations are being met;
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and efficient space utilization through training and supervision of warehouse staff in the performance of regular duties;
  • Manage the warehouse staff to avoid unplanned work stoppages and good employee morale;
  • Communicate unforeseen warehouse events impacting service to the CSR and to the customer.
  • Assisting in developing annual Operating budgets and managing P&L performance with input from General Manager.
  • Continually strive to improve work processes, methods, environment, customer service, personal, as well as team performance.
What You\'ll Bring
  • 10 years of progressive working, supervisory, and management experience in a warehouse setting, preferably within Home Delivery
  • Proficiency on warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and walkie-riders.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of:
  • Best warehouse practices
  • Distribution Center operations
  • Warehouse management systems
  • Occupational health & safety requirements
  • Inventory control
  • RF devices
  • Familiarity with MS Office software, particularly Excel
  • Previous experience managing a budget
  • Knowledge of hours of service and transportation policies, an asset
  • Transportation industry experience, an asset
