The De Beers Group of Companies has an opportunity for an energetic, self-motivated individual to join the Supply Chain department at the Gahcho Ku\xc3\xa9 Mine site based in the Northwest Territories. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safe and effective receipt, storage, retrieval and issuing of goods and material at the mine site as requested by site departments and contractor. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.

Key responsibilities:

  • Receiving, verifying and unloading incoming materials in SAP;
  • Reporting inventory on hand and participating in scheduled and ad-hoc inventory cycle counts;
  • Organizing material for safe and easy access in the available storage locations; \xe2\x80\xa2 Evaluate quality of all materials and prepare required documents;
  • Processing SAP reservations and issuing material to end users;
  • Ability to be an SAP lead user, ability to run SAP reports, and administering Train the Trainer sessions;
  • Completing any required receiving or shipping documentation;
  • Packaging and sorting of material or goods for storage, shipment or return; \xe2\x80\xa2 Under the direction of senior Warehouse Officers and Lead hands, issue batches to production by reviewing control and material safety data sheets; selecting, weighing, staging the required raw materials; and intermediates/final products.
  • Organizing delivery of material & goods requested to departments and contractors;
  • Ability to be signed off on 50% of Department Equipment within 3 months of start date;
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organized warehouse storage space;
  • Performing various tasks related to warehousing operations (stock transfers, returns processing, goods inspections, picking and kitting orders for shutdowns, material verifications and storage maintenance);
  • Operating various types of Warehouse equipment including but not limited to stand-up forklift, counter balance forklift, and telehandlers;
  • Learning, understanding and complying with all company policies and safety procedures and;
  • Participates in opportunities to develop industry relevant warehousing knowledge.
The role is based within the Supply Chain team and is a site-based position that will be a (2) two weeks on, (2) weeks off rotation.

Qualifications
  • Five (5) years\' experience working within a warehouse & logistics environment preferably within the mining industry;
  • Minimum of five (5) years working with SAP and inventory management methods and practices; \xe2\x80\xa2 Valid Driver\'s license or the ability to obtain a site license;
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP;
  • In-depth knowledge of Warehouse and Inventory Management Practices;
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs;
  • Certification and experience operating equipment listed above;
  • High School diploma with 5 years\' relevant experience or Bachelor of Science with minimum 2 years\' relevant experience in SAP and Warehousing;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Superior organization and coordination skills, initiative, professionalism and dependability;
  • Willingness to work shift work;
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental Standards; and
  • Experience working at a in cross-cultural work environment.
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada;
Desirable Assets:
  • Experience utilizing barcode technology; and
  • Dangerous good certification for ground (TDG) and air (IATA) freight.
  • In-depth knowledge of d.Code and/or scanning systems would be considered an asset.
  • Supply Chain Logistic Professional Designation (CITT) or APICS Certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working at a remote mining site.
  • The following certifications would be considered an asset: Fall Protection Certification, Parts or Warehouse Technician Journeyman Certification, Loader Certification, and/or Forklift Certification.
Please note: Preference will be given to Members of the Deninu Ku\xc3\xa9, Lutsel K\'e Dene First Nation, North Slave M\xc3\xa9tis Alliance, Northwest Territory M\xc3\xa9tis Nation, Tlicho Government, or Yellowknives Dene First Nation, followed by non-indigenous residents of the Northwest Territories or a resident of the Northwest Territories.
