POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Description: Warehouse Agent Reports to: Supply Chain Manager Location: Edmonton, Alberta The Warehouse Agent supports BBE in delivering exceptional Customer Service to our clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for cargo handling and data processing. The successful applicant has experience in the industry, is solution driven, organized, have high attention to detail and excellent customer service in delivering the greatest value for their clients.   • Follow company Health & Safety Standards and complete Safety Duties as required and instructed to do.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures as trained and communicated to do.

  • Cleanliness of facilities and workstations at all times.

  • Ensure that the facility maintains a secure environment, as required by Edmonton Airport authorities, Canada Customs and Transport Canada.

  • Ensure that all workplace issues, including barriers to high level of Customer Service, are brought to the attention of the Supervisor / Management team and assist in creating solutions.

  • Receive and handle cargo on behalf of customers.

  • Process cargo documentation and system entries.

  • Verify manifests that accompany freight to ensure there are no discrepancies.

  • Manifest freight for shipping.

  • Communicate with vendors for various aspects of their freight.

  • Dangerous goods processing (packaging, handling and documentation) when necessary.
  • Packaging and prepping freight for transport.

  • Organize pickups, delivery and billing in a timely manner.

  • Consolidation of shipments.

  • Prioritization of shipments based on client supplied requirements.

  • Timely and effective resolution of client or process issues, if they occur (delays, damage, et al.).

  • Maintain accurate record keeping as required by various government agencies and Company policies.
Professional Qualifications
  • Logistics and transportation experience is considered an asset.

  • Shipping, Receiving or Warehousing experience is considered an asset.

  • Forklift and Equipment operating experience is considered an asset.

  • Post-Secondary Business Diploma/Degree is considered an asset.

  • CIFFA, SCMP or similar certification is considered an asset.

  • Strong computer skills with medium experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Attention to detail and good communication skills are required.
