Our growing company is currently looking to hire Purchasing Agent to join our Supply Chain team, based out of our Grande Prairie office.


The Purchaser reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is responsible for managing the ordering, processing and procurement functions for all materials required for our maintenance and construction E & I and Automation Divisions. While working alongside Project managers and Site Super Intendants from the Construction division and Maintenance Division. Ensure all materials are ordered in a timely manner, fall under the project\xe2\x80\x99s cost analysis set out and pursue cost saving whenever possible. This position is integral to the sourcing, Procurement and purchasing for all of CDN divisions. Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal shop personnel, field staff and external customers to supply them with required parts and materials.
  • Manage the orders bin and requests coming in from the field.
  • Conduction product research to gather pricing, availability and sourcing.
  • Process orders from start to finish and verify acceptance of the order through receipt of an order confirmation.
  • Confirm details of delivery according to scheduled times and commitment dates.
  • Ensure all ordered parts or parts taken from inventory are entered on a work ticket or are properly transferred out of the main inventory warehouse and into the appropriate truck warehouse.
  • Work to further integrate procurements and inventory computer systems and applications into the practices and procedures of the purchasing department.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Off-load freight as required and assist the shipping and receiving department.

  • Demonstrate problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be an exceptional listener with effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must be organized and have the ability to manage a variety of time sensitive tasks at one time.
  • Must have a solid experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, and knowledge of Inventory and Procurements Systems.
