In keeping with the mission and values of the organization as a member of the interdisciplinary team, this position provides assistance and support to the direct client care providers on the unit in a client-focussed environment.The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate communication and complete the clerical duties essential to the functioning of the nursing unit.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEThe ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Previous experience in a health-related setting
• Excellent computer skills in MSOffice word processing and spreadsheet programs
• Ability to utilize Meditech computer and systems
• Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Completion of medical terminology course
• Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize the workload and multi-task
• Ability to work efficiently independently and in a teamwork environment
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

ASSETS

• Experience transcribing physicians\' orders
• Ward Clerk Certificate or Nursing Unit Clerk Certificate
• Bilingual - English and French
