/Requirements



As the VP of Tax, this role will establish the overall direction and strategic initiatives for the Company's Tax function while working directly with a team of tax professionals (internal and external), internal Business Partners, and international tax authorities.

In this role you will ensure compliance with all federal, state, provincial and local tax regulations in Canada, the U.S. and various international tax markets and minimize tax liability and tax related costs while maximizing after tax profits.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive strategic tax planning to drive lower effective global tax rates and operational initiatives
  • Lead an international team of tax professionals to ensure efficient, timely and complete processing of internal and external tax reporting and minimization of tax obligations for the Company
  • Partner with internal and external client groups to ensure processes and controls are in place in order to confirm accuracy and compliance related to withholding taxes and identifying and reporting on opportunities to streamline processes
  • Coordination of the annual reporting process, ensuring the timely preparation, accuracy and completeness of calculations and tax filings for corporations, partnerships and subsidiaries
  • Remain connected to third party information sources to ensure that new or modified tax laws are accurately accounted for on a timely basis
  • Ensure appropriate issue analysis and negotiation of audit settlements with taxing authorities
