The Role

Cognota is looking for a Vice President of Growth Marketing to lead our company\xe2\x80\x99s ambitious growth marketing strategy to help us reach pipeline targets to increase revenue. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work alongside our CEO, CFO, and Advisors in fine-tuning, optimizing, and managing the implementation of growth strategies across different marketing areas of the business including content creation, SEO optimization, paid advertising, email marketing, conversion rate optimization, and product-led initiatives.

This is a player/coach role. You will be hands-on, lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals (Content Marketing Manager and Performance Marketing Specialist), meet targets, and hire additional marketers as the business scales up.

You will be responsible for identifying new growth opportunities, as well as optimizing the existing processes to ensure they are cost-effective and scalable. You will be responsible for creating new business sales pipeline and cross-collaborating on Product-Led Growth and Community strategies. Focusing on lead acquisition, you will develop, design, and collaborate with executive stakeholders, sales leaders, and product leaders to implement campaigns that feed our demand funnel.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead strategy development and execution to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention, as well as increase our market share and reach our growth targets
  • Work with marketing, sales, and product teams to optimize existing and establish new, cost-effective processes to achieve and exceed our revenue goals
  • Lead a team of specialists to conduct content, social media, SEO, affiliate, and email marketing
  • Optimizing the effectiveness of existing marketing channels such as emails, social media, website, etc.
  • Build and managing a successful team while fostering a culture that aligns with and promotes company values
  • Develop deep domain/industry expertise in order to create proper audience segmentations and target audience profiles that drive campaign strategies
  • Optimize the buyer\xe2\x80\x99s journey from evaluation to conversion, ensuring best in class experience
  • Manage lead acquisition, nurture, and follow-up; collaborate with the Sales Development Representative (SDR) and Sales teams to ensure strong follow-through on sourced lead.
  • Work cross-functionally with our product-led growth (PLG) team to uncover key personas, drive top of funnel, and optimize conversion rates across the funnel
  • Track program results, measure program success, and report metrics via Salesforce.com
  • Help grow our database and deepen our relationship with current prospects through a broad range of lead nurture campaigns
Additional Responsibilities:
  • \xe2\x80\x8bWork with stakeholders to collect business requirements
  • Document use cases
  • Analyze data to determine trends and insights to help direct the business
  • Generate ad hoc reporting as requested
  • Experience running and analyzing reports for marketing KPIs
  • Understand lead management metrics and calculate conversion rates
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has a proven track record building and scaling B2B SaaS companies from early stages in revenue to growth stages (typically defined as +$10M in ARR), with an additional bonus being that you have experience working in the Corporate L&D industry (LMS, etc.).
  • 8+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in B2B Marketing, preferably in a Demand Generation or Integrated Growth Marketing roles within a SaaS company with success in a player/coach role working in a startup or scale up environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in a managerial role
  • BA / BS in Marketing or equivalent working experience, Masters a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com reports and Hubspot capabilities or equivalent
  • Strong background in campaign development and marketing program execution required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail and flawless execution
  • Ability to present program strategy and plans clearly, collect and act on feedback from a broad group of stakeholders
  • Experience building collaborative relations with Sales team
  • Strong campaign orchestration, message optimization, persona and buying cycle experience
  • Creative thinker, self-starter, able to work both independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Flexible, patient and able to thrive in a dynamic, ever changing work environment
  • Experience in evolving marketing programs based on performance data, feedback from sales and understanding of the business
  • Excellent project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to consistently prioritize and manage deliverables from other stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes on time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In-depth understanding of analytics tools
