: Vice President of Engineering

A Vancouver-based InsurTech Startup is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Engineering to join their expanding management team. The company is looking for a motivated leader with startup experience who can manage a team of 20+ reports. This role requires a hands-on approach, with approximately 50% of the time dedicated to management responsibilities and the other 50% focused on hands-on development using React and React Native technologies.

As the VP of Engineering, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the company\'s high-traffic application, leveraging your strong development foundation. This is a strategic role where you will drive technical innovation, ensure the scalability and reliability of the platform, and build and grow exceptional engineering teams.

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, preferably as a Vice President of Engineering or similar, within a startup environment.
  • Strong background in hands-on development using React and React Native technologies.
  • Proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams, with a focus on fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies, architecture, and best practices.
